Midland Mencap win 5 Gold Medals for Swimming!!
On Saturday April the 12th five swimmers
representing Midland Mencap headed to Halesowen pool for our first ever
swimming gala.
We had four swimmers entered into five races and huge congratulations to all four who came
away with a total of 5 gold medals. First up was Nagina who had entered a width
with assist race. Next we had the 33 meter front crawl races that Jason, Scott
and Andrew entered. Lastly we had Andrew again who had entered the 33 meter
breaststroke race.
Although they were all very nervous beforehand they over
overcame nerves by supporting and cheering each other and with the
encouragement of the supporters.
Winning five gold medals at the gala was a wonderful
achievement but more importantly everyone had a fantastic evening!
I would like to thank all the parents and friends and staff
who did a brilliant job of supporting our swimmers. I would also like to say a
massive congratulation to our swimmers who all deserve a big ‘pat on the back’
to go with their gold medals.
Well done everyone,
Laura
