On Sunday September 29th Midland Mencap Netball
teams hosted Southfield Netball club for our first games on home soil.
The day started with some ‘skills and drills’ training
followed by two games.
The first game
involved Midland Mencap and Southfield
players mixing together, showing true sportsmanship to create two new teams who worked really
well together. Final score 2-0 to the light blues.
The second game was Midland Mencap Vs. Southfields. I’m
delighted to say Midland Mencap used their brilliant netball skills and showed
great team work to end up winning the match 1-0.
The whole team worked really hard and I am extremely proud
of them. I would like to say a special well done to our goal scorers Jerome and
Kelly B, to Kelly D who was the most improved on the day and to our captain Jo
who as always worked extremely hard to ensure she was part of a winning team.
The Netball team would like to thank: Southfields Netball
team for travelling from Leicester, Pete for driving the mini bus and doing the
heavy lifting, to Lisa P for cooking all the delicious food, Gemma for coming down and supporting the team
and to Lisa O for giving up her Sunday morning to come and umpire the matches
for us.
A Fantastic day all round! Well done everyone!
